    Along the upper edge arc, the country name in English 'JAMAICA'. Below, the inscription 'HALF PENNY'. In the central part, the coat of arms of Jamaica — an English heraldic shield with the Cross of St. George and five pineapples. Above the shield, a depiction of a crocodile on a log. Below the shield, a motto ribbon with the Latin inscription 'INDUS UTERQUE SERVIET UNI'. The coat of arms divides the year of issue '1950' into two parts.

    Around the edge of the coin — decorative raised denticles. Along the rim, inscriptions in English: left 'KING GEORGE', right 'THE SIXTH'. In the central part, a left-facing profile portrait of the king. The letters 'PM' below the neck truncation — the mark of engraver Percy Metcalfe.
