    In the central part, the numeral 5 within a circle. Surrounding it are the nine coats of arms of the Federal States of Austria: Vienna, Burgenland, Upper Austria, Vorarlberg, Carinthia, Styria, Lower Austria, Salzburg, Tyrol. The arms are positioned with their base towards the center, forming a sunburst pattern. Along the upper edge of the coin, inscriptions in German: on the left, top, and right the country name 'REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH' (Republic of Austria), at the bottom the inscription 'EURO'.

    On the right side is a left-facing profile of the Austrian composer and musician Johann Chrysostom Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In the exergue, a facsimile of the person's signature. Near the rim, the artist's mark of Thomas Pesendorfer - 'TP'. On the left – an image of the Cathedral of Saints Rupert and Vergilius in Salzburg. Above the roof of the church are the composer's life dates '1756-1791'. In the upper part, along the edge of the coin, the musician's name in German 'WOLFGANG AMADEUS MOZART'. Below, the European Mint Program mark and the year of mintage '2006'.
