In the central part, within a circle of yellow metal, a woman is depicted sowing grain. Along the upper edge of the coin, an inscription in Ukrainian from left to right: «НА МЕЖI ТИСЯЧОЛIТЬ» (At the Turn of the Millennium). Along the lower edge are three semi-circular segments of varying length, increasing in size from the center to the edge.
Obverse
In the central part, a contour trefoil is depicted, with the Coat of Arms of Ukraine at its center. Around the edge of the coin are inscriptions in Ukrainian: on the left, the country name «УКРАЇНА» (Ukraine); on the right, «5 гривень» (5 Hryvnias); at the bottom, the mintmark of the Kyiv Mint and the year of issue 2000.
