    On the field, arranged radially at equal distances from each other and joined in the center, are seven foils. Around them is a ring formed by two circles of smaller diameter, containing an inscription in Slovene: "PRVA OLIMPIJSKA MEDALJA 1912", which translates to "First Olympic Medal. 1912". Along the arc of the left and upper edge of the coin is the name of the first Olympic medalist in Slovene: "RUDOLF CVETKO", which translates to "Rudolf Cvetko".

    In the central part, within a circle of silvery metal, is depicted a fencer's protective mask, below it the guard of a foil pointing forward, to the right the inscription: "3 EURO". To the left and above along the rim: the Olympic rings, the name of the state of Slovenia in Slovene: "SLOVENIJA", and the year of issue 2012.
