    In the central part, a double portrait facing left: in the foreground, a portrait of Bolivia's first president Simón Bolívar, with the inscription 'LIBERTADOR BOLIVAR' (The Liberator Bolívar) below him; in the background, a portrait of the 75th President of the Republic Hugo Banzer Suárez with the inscription 'PRESIDENTE BANZEA' (President Banzer) below him. Below the image is the inscription '$b 250' (250 pesos), and below that the metal fineness 'ley 0,933'. Along the edge of the coin, an arc of text reads from left to right: 'DOSCIENTOS•CINCUENTA•PESOS•BOLIVIANOS' (Two hundred fifty Bolivian pesos), and at the bottom 'ORDEN•PAZ•TRABAJO' (Order, Peace, Work). Below Bolívar's truncation, the inscription 'Minorte'.
  • Obverse
    In the central part, the coat of arms of the Republic of Bolivia is depicted. It consists of an oval containing: Mount Potosí, a rising sun on the left, an alpaca facing right at the foot of the mountain, a sheaf of wheat and a breadfruit tree. On either side of the oval are three flags, two rifles, a cannon barrel on the left, a halberd on the right, and an Andean condor perched on top. Along the rim are inscriptions in Spanish: at the top the country name 'REPUBLICA DE BOLIVIA' (Republic of Bolivia), at the bottom the inscription 'SESQUICENTENARIO' (Sesquicentennial). On the left, the year of Upper Peru's declaration of independence from Spain '1825', on the right the year of minting '1975'.
