    In the central part is the numeral 2, to its right is the outline of Europe, from which six vertical rays extend upwards and six downwards. Along the arc of the right edge, intersecting these rays, are twelve five-pointed stars. On Europe, an inscription in English: 'EURO'. To the right below the inscription is the monogram 'LL' - the mark of the engraver Luc Luycx.

    In the central part, within a circle of yellow metal, are right-facing portraits of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duke William IV against a cityscape. Below them are their names in Luxembourgish: 'HENRI' and 'GUILLAUME IV', below William IV's name is a Christian cross and the year 1912. Above them is a four-line inscription: the mint year 2012 with the mint master's and Utrecht Mint (Netherlands) marks on either side; an inscription in French: 'GRANDS-DUCS DE LUXEMBOURG', which translates to 'Grand Dukes of Luxembourg'. Around the edge of the coin are twelve five-pointed stars.
