    In the central part, a two-line Hungarian inscription: 100 «FORINT». Below is the coat of arms of the Hungarian People's Republic, and under the coat of arms the abbreviation «ВР.» - indicating the Budapest Mint. Along the lower edge arc is the year of issue 1970. The entire composition is framed by a wreath of flowers and leaves along the rim.

    In the central part is an image of the Statue of Liberty on Gellért Hill in Budapest (Hungary), symbolically standing on a rising sun. To the left of the statue is 1945, to the right 1970. Below are three five-pointed stars. Around the edge of the coin is the inscription «MAGYAR NÉPKÖZTÁRSASÁG», which translates from Hungarian as: «Hungarian People's Republic».
