Reverse

In the central part on the right are large numerals '10', below them a two-line inscription in English 'EURO / CENT' – meaning 'ten euro cents'. To the right of the ten is the engraver's mark of Luc Luycx 'LL'. In the central part on the left are the geographical outlines of the eurozone countries. Extending upwards and downwards from them are six vertical parallel lines, at the ends of which are 12 stars.

Obverse

Along the rim, forming an outer circle, are 12 stars symbolizing the countries of the European Union. At the top, within the inner circle, is the name of the state in French 'MONACO'. At the bottom is the year of mintage, e.g, 2006. To the left of the date is the mint mark of the Paris Mint, a 'cornucopia'. To the right is the personal mark of the Director of the Paris Mint, Hubert Larivière – a French hunting horn with waves. In the central part are the princely crown and the cypher of the reigning monarch, Prince Albert II.
