In the central part, there is a tree; at the base of the trunk, two alpacas are depicted lying facing each other. Above the crown, six six-pointed stars are arranged in a semicircle. Along the edge of the coin, the text reads from left to right: the country's name in Spanish 'REPUBLICA BOLIVIANA' (Republic of Bolivia), at the bottom the Latin letters 'PTS', the inscription '2S' (2 sueldos), the year of minting '1830', the engraver's mark 'JL', with dots between the inscriptions. The edge is decorated with decorative denticles.
Obverse
In the center, there is a right-facing portrait of Bolivia's first president, Simón Bolívar, in uniform, wearing a laurel wreath on his head. Below the truncation is the person's name 'Bolivar'. To the left and right along the edge is the text in Spanish 'LIBRE POR LA CONSTITUCION.' (Free by the constitution). The edge of the coin features decorative raised denticles.
