Below - the year of accession to the throne of the Ottoman Sultan Abdul Hamid II in Indo-Arabic numerals: "١٢٩٣" - 1293 AH (Islamic calendar) or 1876 AD (Gregorian). Above - the number: "٧" - "7", meaning the 7th year of reign or 1882 AD.
Obverse
