Around the image is the text: ВСЕѦ РОСIИ ПОВЕЛIТЕЛЬ (ALL RUSSIA SOVEREIGN). The rim resembles twisted rope—the traditional denticles are angled relative to the field.

    The center of the obverse is occupied by the coat of arms of the Russian Empire—a double-headed eagle. Both eagle heads bear crowns, and a larger third crown is positioned between them. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. Around the image is the inscription: ЦРЬ ПЕТРЬ АЛЕѯIЕВИЧЪ (TSAR PETER ALEXEEVICH). The rim consists of dots.
