Reverse
In the central part, the numeral 5 and a two-line inscription: 'EURO CENT' - 5 euro cents. To the left and below is an image of the Earth globe, with the European part highlighted, from which six slanting rays extend upwards and downwards. At the ends of these rays, along the rim, are twelve five-pointed stars. To the right of the Earth is the monogram 'LL' - the engraver's mark of Luc Luycx.
Obverse
In the central part, an image of two mouflons (mountain goats). Above and to the right of them, a semi-circular inscription: 'ΚΥΠΡΟΣ.2008.KIBRIS' - the name of the state in Greek and Turkish and the year of minting. Along the edge of the coin are twelve five-pointed stars.
