In the central part, the numeral 1 and a two-line inscription: 'EURO CENT' - 1 euro cent. To the left and below, an image of the Earth globe, with Europe highlighted, from which six slanted rays extend upwards and downwards. At the ends of these rays, twelve five-pointed stars are placed along the rim. To the right of the Earth, the monogram 'LL' - the engraver's mark of Luc Luycx.
Obverse
In the central part, an image of two mouflons (mountain goats). Above and to the right of them, a semi-circular inscription: 'ΚΥΠΡΟΣ.2008.KIBRIS' - the name of the state in Greek and Turkish and the year of minting. Along the edge of the coin are twelve five-pointed stars.
