Reverse
In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of a condor with spread wings. Along the left arc of the coin's edge is an inscription indicating the weight: 'G.1,612'. At the top in Spanish: 'UN PESO' - 1 peso. On the right, the fineness indication: 'LEI 0,900'. At the bottom, 'BOGOTA' - indicating the Bogotá mint. The rim is decorated with a denticulated pattern.
Obverse
To the right, top, and left is an inscription in Spanish: 'ESTADOS UNIDOS DE COLOMBIA', which translates to 'United States of Colombia'. In the central part is a left-facing profile portrait of the goddess Liberty, her head adorned with a ribbon bearing the Spanish inscription 'LIBERTAG', meaning 'Liberty'. Below the head is the date of issue, 1872. In the lower part, along the arc of the coin's edge, are nine five-pointed stars. The rim is decorated with a denticulated pattern.
