Reverse
In the central part, surrounded by two laurel wreaths, an inscription in Spanish: '2 PESOS' - two pesos. In the upper part, along the edge arc, text indicating the weight: 'P. PESO G.3,225'. At the bottom along the rim - fineness indication: 'LEI 0,900'. These inscriptions are separated by two floral branches. The rim is decorated with a decorative element in the form of denticles.
Obverse
In the central part, a left-facing profile portrait of the goddess Liberty, her head adorned with a ribbon bearing the Spanish inscription: 'LIBERTAG', meaning 'Liberty'. Below the head is the date of issue 1857. To the left and right of the head is an inscription in Spanish: 'NUEVA GRANADA', meaning 'New Granada'. The rim is decorated with a decorative element in the form of denticles.
