    At the top, a large Roman numeral 1 'I', flanked by raised elements resembling six-petaled rosettes. Below is the German inscription 'SCHILLING', meaning 'one schilling'. At the bottom are two crossed branches, beneath them the mint mark 'M'.

    In the center is the coat of arms of the city of Danzig (Gdańsk): a shield with vertical hatching, crowned with an open crown. On the shield are two broad crosses, one above the other. The shield separates the date of issue '18 08'.
