    Along the edge of the coin from left to right is the German inscription 'DANZIGER KUPFER MUENZE', translated as 'COPPER COIN OF DANZIG'. In the central part, within a closed circle of raised dots, is a two-line inscription 'EIN / GROSCHEN', translated from German as 'one groschen'. Below is an image of two crossed branches, beneath them the mint mark 'M'.
  • Obverse
    The central part features the coat of arms of the city of Danzig (Gdańsk): a fluted shield with an open crown and two pattée crosses, one above the other. The shield is crowned above with a wreath of two crossed branches and is supported on the sides by two lions regardant. Below the shield is the year of minting '1812'.
