In the central part is a lion with a sword in its paw against a sun - the coat of arms of Iran. Above is a crown. Below is the Persian text: "دوهزار دینار" - "TWO THOUSAND DINARS". Along the left arc of the coin's edge is an olive branch, on the right an oak branch, which cross at the bottom and are tied with a bow. The edges of the rim are decorated with raised decorative denticles.
Obverse
In the central part is a three-line inscription in Persian: "شاه قاجار ناصر الدين السلطان", which translates as: "NASER AD-DIN SHAH QAJAR SULTAN". On the left side, along the arc of the coin's edge, is an olive branch, on the right an oak branch, which cross at the bottom and are tied with a bow. The edges of the rim are decorated with raised decorative denticles.
