Reverse
In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of an African slender-snouted crocodile (facing right), coiled around the numeral 1. Along the upper rim of the coin is the inscription 'Dalasi': at the bottom in Arabic 'لَىِس دَ', on the right in English 'DALASI'.
Obverse
In the upper part, along the rim of the coin, is the country name in English 'REPUBLIC OF THE GAMBIA'. In the central part is the state coat of arms: two lions holding a heraldic shield depicting a crossed axe and hoe; above the shield is a helmet adorned with a palm branch; at the base of the coat of arms is the motto in English - 'Progress — Peace — Prosperity'. Below is the year of minting '2011'.
