In the central part is the coat of arms of Belize. It consists of: a heraldic shield divided into three parts; the left part depicts a crossed axe and paddle, the right part an axe and saw, and the lower part a sailing ship. Above the shield, on a torse, stands a tree; flanking the shield are supporters: on the left holding an axe over the shoulder, on the right a paddle. At the base of the arms is the Latin motto 'SUB UMBRA FLOREO' (Under the shade I flourish). The border of the arms is formed by twenty-five pairs of leaves, closed in a circle. Above the arms is the country name in English 'BELIZE', below it the year of minting '1994'. Below the leaves are the Latin initials 'JS'. On both sides of the arms is a dot. Along the rim are elements in the form of dots.
