Reverse In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of a panorama of the town on a riverbank, above it – the coat of arms of the town of Kargopol, around the circumference – text: at the top – 'ANCIENT TOWNS OF RUSSIA', at the bottom – 'KARGOPOL'.
Obverse At the top along the coin's edge are the words BANK OF RUSSIA, at the bottom the year of issue '2006', on the left is an olive branch, and on the right an oak branch. Both branches slightly overlap the central insert. In the central part, the denomination is indicated – the number '10', and below it the currency unit – 'RUBLES'. Inside the digit '0', depending on the viewing angle, one can see the inscriptions '10' and 'RUB'. Above the year of issue is the mint mark 'MMD' (Moscow Mint).
