Obverse In the upper part, following the curve of the coin's edge, the text in Spanish: "ISABEL II POR LA GRACIA DE DIOS Y LA CONST." - "ISABELLA II BY THE GRACE OF GOD AND THE CONSTITUTION". The central part features the right-facing profile of Queen Isabella II. To her left is the digit: "4", to her right the letter: "M". Below is the year of minting: "1840".
