Reverse
The central part of the reverse features a relief depiction of the coat of arms of Colombia. Along the left edge arc is an inscription indicating the weight: 'G.32,258'. At the top in Spanish: 'VEINTE PESOS' - twenty pesos. On the right, the fineness indication: 'LEI 0,900'. At the bottom, 'MEDELLIN' - indicating the Medellín mint. The rim is decorated with a denticulated pattern.
Obverse
An inscription in Spanish is arranged to the right, top, and left: 'ESTADOS UNIDOS DE COLOMBIA', meaning 'United States of Colombia'. The central part features a left-facing profile portrait of the goddess Liberty, her head adorned with a ribbon bearing the Spanish inscription 'LIBERTAG', meaning 'Liberty'. Below the head is the date of issue, 1868. In the lower part, along the edge arc, are nine eight-pointed stars. The rim is decorated with a denticulated pattern.
