The inscription is placed over the outlines of a map of Europe. Six vertical lines extend upwards and downwards from it, each ending with one of 12 stars.

Along the edge of the ring on the left is the Slovenian inscription 'SLOVENIJA 2017', meaning 'Slovenia 2017' – the country name and year of minting. At the bottom is the inscription '10 LET SKUPNE EVROPSKE VALUTE' – '10 Years of the European Currency'. In the central part, 10 swallows are depicted in flight.
