Reverse In the center is a column standing on a strip of ground, topped by an imperial crown, beneath which is an ornate shield with the monogram of Empress Catherine II. Military trophies flank the column. Below is the year of minting: '1771'. The rim is decorated with dots.
Obverse In the center is a double-headed eagle, its heads crowned with two smaller crowns and a third, larger crown above them. In the eagle's right talon is a scepter, in its left a sword. Under the right talon is an oval shield with the coat of arms of Moldavia (a bull's head with horns), under the left talon is an oval shield with the coat of arms of Wallachia (a bird standing on the ground with a cross in its beak). Below the eagle and behind the shields is a strip of ground, beneath which is the inscription: 5 KOPIEKЪ. Below the inscription: the mintmark 'S', denoting the private mint in Sadagura (Moldova). The rim is decorated with dots.
