Corresponds to the image of a regular issue one kopek coin, except for the mirror image of the legend inscriptions: 'In the central part, the denomination is indicated—the numeral 1 flanked on both sides by asterisks. Below the numeral—the word "КОПѢЙКА" (KOPEYKA). Further below, a decorative divider in the form of two curved lines with a small circle between them. Below the divider—the mint mark "С.П.Б." (S.P.B.). The central part is separated from the rest of the design by a circle of dots. In the upper part, the incuse text in a semicircle: 1898 ГОДА (YEAR). Below, along the edge, is a wreath of laurel and oak branches. At the base, the branches are tied with a ribbon, the knot of which forms a bow.'
Obverse
In the central part of the coin, the State Coat of Arms of the German Empire is depicted. Around the circumference—two semicircular cartouches connected by ornamental patterns. On the upper cartouche, a mirror image of the raised inscription: "МЕДНАЯ РОССIЙСКАЯ МОНЕТА" (COPPER RUSSIAN COIN). On the lower cartouche, depicted as a ribbon, the text: ОДНА КОПѢЙКА (ONE KOPEYKA).
