    The central part of the reverse features a relief image of the naval standard: a double-headed eagle without scepter and orb, holding four sea charts in its beaks and talons — symbols of the four 'Russian' seas (the White, Baltic, Black Seas and the Pacific Ocean). To the left and right of the Emperor's portrait are the anniversary date numerals: on the left, the year of the Battle of Cape Gangut — '1714', on the right, the year of the celebrated 200th anniversary — '1914'.
