    In the center, a heraldic crowned lion facing left is depicted, standing on its hind legs on a sabre, its right foreleg replaced by an arm holding a raised sword. To the left, the mint year '1999' is shown horizontally. Below the sabre's hilt is the Latin letter 'M' - the mint mark of the Director of the Finnish Mint, Raimo Tapio Makkonen. Around the circumference along the rim are twelve five-pointed stars.
