Around the circumference along the rim is the inscription 'CENTRAL BANK OF CYPRUS 50 YEARS' in Greek 'ΚΕΝΤΡΙΚΗ ΤΡΑΠΕΖΑ ΤΗΣ ΚΥΠΡΟΥ 50 ΧΡΟΝΙΑ'. Against a background of alternating symbols of the Cypriot pound and the euro, a young maiden (facing left) is depicted holding an olive branch with a fruit. Above the branch is the inscription twenty euro '20 €'.

Obverse

In the upper part, along the arc of the coin's edge, is the country name 'Cyprus' in three languages (English, Greek, Turkish) 'CYPRUS KYΠPOΣ KIBRIS', below – the years of the Bank of Cyprus's foundation and the issue '1963 - 2013'. In the central part is the coat of arms of the Republic: a heraldic shield framed by olive branches, depicting a flying dove with an olive branch in its beak. Below the bird is the year the country gained independence from Great Britain '1980'.
