Reverse On the left — a fountain of a healing spring, above — the coat of arms of the city of Staraya Russa, in the background on the right — the Resurrection Cathedral (17th century). Around the circumference: at the top — 'ANCIENT CITIES OF RUSSIA', at the bottom — 'STARAYA RUSSA'.
Obverse At the top along the coin's edge are the words BANK OF RUSSIA, at the bottom the mintage year '2002'. On the left side is an olive branch, and on the right an oak branch. Both branches slightly overlap the central insert. In the central part, the denomination is indicated — the number '10', and below it the currency unit — 'RUBLES'. Inside the digit '0', depending on the viewing angle, one can see the inscriptions '10' and 'RUB'. Above the mintage year is the mint mark 'SPMD' (Saint Petersburg Mint).
