The country is identified by the legend and the coat of arms, and where the legend is unreadable — by the denomination and monetary unit: most states used a unit of their own. The same type was struck for years, and varieties differ by date, mint and small die details. 49 collections, 6 628 records in total. The largest: France — 617, Germany — 605, Austria — 449, Poland — 410, Ukraine — 399. Every entry carries photographs of both sides, metal, fineness, weight, diameter, mintage and catalogue numbers after Bitkin, Uzdenikov and Conros. Groups with fewer than five records are not listed separately.
