(1764 Berlin - 1850 ibid) after "Natura". Original title bronze, dark brown patinated, 1813. Titled on the plinth recto, artist's mark verso; cast around 1900 after the 1813 allegorical female nude statuette modeled by Schadow, originally in bronzed wax on a wooden base; later also executed in plaster and bronze. The statuette was conceived by Schadow as part of a group of four allegories - Nature, Art, Virtue, and Peace. H. 23.5 cm. Comparative examples in various materials can be found in the state museums in Berlin, including the 1888 acquired model from the collection of Eugenie Schadow, Berlin.
