Faience, sand-colored shards. Wide, curved form, freely turned by Wilfriede Maß. Decorations in polychrome painting with female portraits on the interior and figurative representations or scenes on the exterior. Partial glaze chips or rubbing on the lip. Each signed "C.M. P. Schleime" with a ligature monogram "WM" (Wilfriede Maß) in a circle. Height 6.7 cm; Diameter 11.5 cm - 11.8 cm. Schleime (born 1953) is one of the most significant German female painters of our time. In 1982, she was one of the first artists from the GDR underground art scene to paint ceramics in the legendary workshop of Wilfriede Maß in East Berlin until she was able to leave the GDR in September 1984 and move to West Berlin.
