PortlandOregon’sConverge 45triennial hasshared the participating artistsfor its upcoming exhibition “Here, To you, Now.” Curated by Lumi Tan, the triennialwill draw inspiration from the work of Ursula K. Le Guin, specifically her novelAlways Coming Home.

In this1985 novel, Le Guin writes a futuristic ethnography of the fictional Kesh people, who “prioritize the impermanence of spoken language, insisting that meaning is always remade in the moment.”

Trisha Baga (New York, NY), Ricky Bearghost (Portland, OR), Aaron Cunningham (Portland, OR), Jacqueline Kiyomi Gork and sidony o’neal (Portland, OR), will present their work in “Here, To you, Now” along with twenty three others. The exhibition will additionally include seventeen new commissions.

Art spaces that will be featured in the Triennial include Barn Radio, the Hoffman Gallery at Lewis & Clark College, the Native Arts and Cultures Foundation, Oregon Contemporary, and the Pacific Northwest College of Art.

“What feels especially compelling about Here, To you, Now is the way Lumi has brought together artists whose work meets Portland with real attentiveness,” Amanda Donnan, Executive and Artistic Director of Converge 45, said in a statement. “These projects don’t just arrive in the city, they engage its histories, its spaces, and the communities that shape it. For Converge 45, that is the promise of the triennial: work that is rooted here while opening Portland to broader artistic conversations.”
