After years of supporting theHenry Street Settlement, a social services nonprofit on New York’s Lower East Side, via a partnership which ended in December of 2025, the Art Dealers Association of America (ADAA) has announced that the new beneficiary for its Park Avenue Armory fair in 2026 will be theWhitney Museum of American Art,Hyperallergicreports.
Last August, theADAA announcedthat it was cancelling the 2025 edition of the Art Show in New York City, which the organization had been running for over three decades.
“Our decision to honor the Whitney Museum as our philanthropic partner at the first ADAA Fair marks a defining moment for our organization,” Mary Ryan, ADAA Fair committee chair, said in a statement. “We made a strategic decision to focus our Fair on the visual arts in the most impactful way possible, reflecting the mission of our organization. We are proud to partner with a museum that plays such a vital role in shaping the history and future of American art.”
ADAA’s decision to sponsor the Whitney “is particularly consequential at a time when arts institutions are looking to broaden their sources of financial support,” Susan Sheehan, chair of the ADAA Board, added.
Per Hyperallergic, in 2024, the Whitney reported $39,204,000 in private, nongovernmental contributions, and Henry Street Settlement reported $15,098,544.
The ADAA says that the new fair, set to take place in November, will highlight the work of the ADAA Foundation, and that “the funds raised from the event will support the Whitney’s education and artistic programs.”
