A guerrilla art installation featuring the names and visages of twenty public figures who’ve been linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein appeared in a public park close to the White House in Washington, DC earlier this month. No individual or group has yet claimed authorship of the “Jeffrey Epstein Walk of Shame,” which consists of stickers made to resemble Hollywood Walk of Fame stars that call out, among others, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor (formerly Prince Andrew), Ghislaine Maxwell, Harvey Weinstein, Bill Gates and Lex Wexner. The star stickers appeared affixed to the sidewalk in Farragut Square on Sunday, March 1st. Each of them comes with their own QR code which, when scanned, directs observers to the Department of Justice’s Epstein Library or to other evidence of affiliation, Hyperallergic reported. Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested in February following reports that he shared confidential UK government documents with Epstein during his tenure as England’s trade envoy. Maxwell, Epstein’s accomplice, is currently incarcerated at the Bryan Federal Prison Camp in Texas. She was sentenced to twenty years in prison in 2022 after being found guilty of sex trafficking of minors, among other charges. Former President Bill Clinton, who also has a star in the installation, was recently deposed by the House Oversight panel regarding his relationship with Epstein. Clinton stated to members of Congress that he “did nothing wrong” and saw no evidence of Epstein’s prolific sexual abuse. The Epstein Files – 3 million of them in total – were released to the public by the US Department of Justice in January. Guerrilla art highlighting Epstein’s relationships with prominent people in power have cropped up in DC before. Last September, a statue of Epstein and Donald Trump holding hands that was attributed to the resistance artist collective Secret Handshake appeared on the National Mall.
