London-based Gasworks has announced Robert Leckie as its new director. Leckie was curator and head of programs at the arts nonprofit from 2011 to 2018; he is returning to the organization from Spike Island, the Bristol, England, contemporary art and design center where he has served asdirectorfor the past five years. While at Gasworks, Leckie curated the first UK solo exhibitions of Monira Al Qadiri, Candice Lin, Naufus Ramírez-Figueroa, and Kemang Wa Lehulere. In the past decade, he has also curated solo shows of artists including Pacita Abad, Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Peggy Ahwesh, Sidsel Meineche Hansen, Rosemary Mayer, and Tanoa Sasraku. Antoniolli left to direct Triangle Network, of which Gasworks is a partner. The consortium of more than ninety small-scale arts organizations and projects that support and disseminate the work of emerging artists through artist-led workshops, residencies, exhibitions, and outreach events is operational in forty-one countries. “I am thrilled to return to Gasworks as director,” said Leckie in a statement.
