Two Graces are depicted in a scene in a niche from frescoes executed in 1517–1518 by Raphael and his workshop, known in the Roman Villa Farnesina, Loggia of Cupid and Psyche. The third of the three Graces, located in the front left part, and Cupid, even further to the left, to whom both ladies direct their attention, are not depicted here. Romanino was a close associate of Raphael, who participated in the execution of many of his frescoes, including the Villa Farnesina. Red chalk on laid paper with watermark.
