Original title An impressionistic evening landscape of the Baltic coast near the resort of Rauschen (now Svetlogorsk) in East Prussia. Hemmpfing, a graduate of the Karlsruhe Academy, is one of the most significant South German plein air painters of his generation. He presented his paintings from 1911 to 1914, notably at the Glaspalast in Munich, the Künstlerhaus in Vienna, and the Great Berlin Art Exhibition. Oil on hardboard.
