Born in 1937 in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee and residing in Krumpendorf am Wörthersee, this untitled associative composition by Kravagna is greatly simplified in form and color. Similar to the abstract works of Julius Bissier, Kravagna often uses sparse calligraphic or figurative elements to express internal or external perception. Kravagna is a representative of the so-called "natural abstraction" movement, which was created in the 1920s by Herbert Beckl and seeks to directly convey impressions of light and color. Kravagna studied at the art school in Linz from 1953 to 1957, then at the Academy in Vienna until 1961, and finally at the School of Fine Arts in Paris in 1963/64. This is a multi-layered canvas measuring 99.5 cm x 72.5 cm, signed and dated (19)94.
