

(1764 Berlin – 1850 same place) after "Natura". Original title bronze, patinated dark brown, 1813. Title on the front of the pedestal, artist's mark on the back; cast around 1900 after the model of the allegorical figure of a naked woman created by Schadow, originally made of fired wax on a wooden base; later also executed in plaster and bronze. The figure was conceived by Schadow as part of a group of four allegories – Nature, Art, Virtue, and Peace. Height 23.5 cm. Comparative examples in various materials can be found in the state museums in Berlin, including a model acquired in 1888 from the collection of Eugenie Schadow, Berlin.
