In the style of Carl Fabergé, this item is made of silver, partially gilded and enameled. It is shaped like a trumpet with a relief leaf frieze on a round base made of jade. The oval, blue-enameled, and wave-patterned guilloché segmented body is adorned with rich, intricate appliqués in the form of a cornucopia, flowers, swirling "C" scrolls, and volutes. The finial is a fully modeled, crowned, double-headed eagle with attached ornamentation of relief volutes, partially decorated with rose-cut diamonds. Inside is a miniature, naturalistically crafted elephant made of partially gilded silver, adorned with a ruby cabochon against a green-and-black striped jade background. Created in 1888, it weighs 480 grams and stands 16.5 centimeters tall. This Russian silver egg with gilding and enamel is a representation of the Carl Fabergé style. It bears the hallmark "88" and originates from Russia in the 20th century.
