Description

Silver. Oval bowl transitioning into flat surfaces, flaring handle with a rounded end, steady with an elegant central groove. The reverse side of the handle is engraved with the initials "C.M.T.M." The lower part of the handle is decorated; a hallmark in the form of a crowned staff, a ligature monogram "G A S" (?) as the maker’s mark. Weight approximately 195 g. Length 37.5 cm. Large, probably Rhenish Baroque silver spoon. Monogram. Assay mark with crowned staff, ligature maker’s mark. Probably German, Rhenish. 18th century.
