Description

Silver, partially gilded. Conical body with a multiply profiled lip edge. The rim and edge are emphasized by narrow profiles of varying widths. The surface is adorned with finely engraved, flowing ribbons, tassels, festoons, and fruit branches, featuring abundant pomegranate motifs. Beneath the lip, a finely engraved ornamental band with acanthus leaves. Interior gilded. Workshop, hallmark with the letter "C," master Heinrich von Dort (active from 1676). Weight approx. 115 g. Height 9 cm. Provenance: from the silver collection of Werner Hauger, Baden-Baden. See Schliemann, Volume I, number 275 and Volume II, number 45 II.
