Description

Silver, fully gilded. On display spherical feet, a wearable cylindrical body with a gently undulating, smooth rim divided by profile lines. On the wall and lid, stylized relief flat fruit bundles alternate, a total of six medallions with expressively cast ancient portraits of Roman rulers, each engraved above; the lid is cap-shaped with a smooth, wide outward-flaring rim and topped with a large spherical finial. Master Hans Philipp Sigmund (became a master around 1659) made the engraving, tremulous stroke, hallmark, weight approx. 205 g. Height 14.5 cm. See Seling 2007, BZ 0750, No. 1622.
