Henrik Hoffmann (1875-1939) founded his own factory for the production of pressed glass in Jablonec, expanding his family business in the manufacture of buttons and costume jewelry, started by his father, Franz Hoffmann. Around 1899, Henrik Hoffmann established a branch in Paris. At this time, the company was already producing small sculptures and vases, both from pressed and cast glass, placing orders at Josef Riedl's factory in Northern Bohemia. In the early 20th century, Gunter Schlefgodt, Hoffmann's son-in-law, began working at the company. After his wife's death, he established his own enterprise, receiving press molds from Hoffmann. The development of the Hoffmann-Schlefgodt enterprise was hindered by the outbreak of World War II in 1939 and the death of Henrik Hoffmann in the same year.
