Description

Maltsov, Russia, 1830s
Dimensions: 11 x 8 cm, height with lid - 16.5 cm, antique heavy "wandering" glass with hand-cut facets, characteristic bubbles, and a lens at the bottom, faceted lid.

Condition as shown in the photo, delivery of the lot to another region via Russian Post or courier.

In the Russian Empire, tea occupied one of the top places among colonial goods. As a rule, tea was delivered to factories in crates sealed at the border, where it was distributed into branded paper packages, metal, faience, porcelain, or glass tea caddies, and then sealed with a state excise band, which served as a mark of product quality.
