R. & E. Pech

Germany / Bavaria / Kronach After the acquisition of the former factory Gebrüder Kühnlenz, only minor changes were made before production resumed. The main product line presented by R. & E. Pech included a wide range of decorative porcelain (such as candleholders and fireplace sets), typically decorated in the typical Dresden floral style. Figurines were only released around 1937 and became an instant success, although they remained only a small part of the assortment. The rather rigid business structure avoided anything that deviated from the standard assortment, so many customers became bored. Spoiled by initial success and unwilling to change, the company slowly lost ground and was forced to close two ovens and reduce staff. The situation worsened during the war, and after the end of World War II, an attempt to revive the company based on the previous product assortment only expanded with a few new items - which failed, forcing the Pech family to give up.
