Gerold & Co. (Tettau)

The New Porcelain Factory Tettau e.G.m.b.H. (1904 until 1923) The porcelain factory was founded in 1904 in the vicinity of the city Tettau.

Hans Pülz became the first manager of the factory. Under his leadership, the successes surpassed all expectations and by 1913, there were already 125 employees working. The company specialized in the production of figurines (including a large number of lace makers) and animal sculptures, as well as a wide range of other items such as lamp bases, vases, ashtrays, etc. The products were exported to the USA and England.

The New Porcelain Factory Tettau A.G. (1923 until 1937)

In 1930, there were 160 people working in production. Karl Preissler and Fritz Gerold were responsible for improving and investing to ensure the future of the factory. Their point of view was not always shared by other shareholders, and they often had to defend their ideas of a modern enterprise.

The New Porcelain Factory Tettau, Gerold & Co. (1937 until 1960)

There were already 165 people employed in the company. This number remained constant in the following years, although the company steadily increased its exports. The design 'Blue Pageant' appears. The export series produced until 1960 included the trademark (stamp) 'GEROLD PORZELLAN'.
