Porcelain Factory August Alboth founded his business of porcelain decoration in Coburg in 1872. The company was known as Porzellanveredelung August Alboth. His son Ernst joined us in 1875. After August Alboth retired, his successor moved the factory to Kronach in 1898. Ernst Alboth had two children - son Willie and daughter Erna. Erna married Munich banker Georg Kaiser in 1922. Willie Alboth joined the management in 1925. Ernst Alboth passed away in 1927. The company's name was changed to "Alka-Kunst". The porcelain factory AL-KA Kunst Alboth & Kaiser existed from 1928 to 1951. In 1938, the company acquired the former porcelain factory Gebrüder Silbermann, located in Haunsen. In 1951, the Porcelain Factory AL-KA Kunst Alboth & Kaiser K.G. was formed. It was led by a council of three managers: Georg Kaiser, Willie Alboth, and Hubertus Kaiser (son of Georg). The new factory was built in Staffelstein, near Kronach. Alka Porzellanfabriken Alboth & Kaiser KG, Staffelstein, existed until 1970. Georg Kaiser passed away in 1964. In 1970, the company was renamed Kaiser-Porzellanmanufaktur Staffelstein K.G. After the reunification of Germany, issues in the porcelain industry in the country intensified. The company declared bankruptcy in 2001. It was purchased by PM Kapital GmbH & Co. KG and renamed Kaiser-Porzellanmanufaktur Staffelstein GmbH & Co. KG.
